/ WATER ROLL
Wasserweggli literally means “Water Roll”, this refers to the fact that there are no dairy products like milk or butter added. It is just the flours, water, salt, and yeast. One would think, because of the simplicity, it might have not a distinct taste. It does taste great, because of the flour mix, which includes barley malt flour. While baking it is sprayed with water, which leads to a nice crust, and it has a fluffy soft inside. This is great as a dinner roll, with soups or stews, but it also works well as a sandwich roll or can be a delicious breakfast roll. It is very versatile!
