The crust and filling of the Birne Törtli are baked together. The fruit sits in a mix of egg and cream which sets like a custard and is unbelievably delicious. You bite into the crunchy crust, a second after you will feel the semisoft pear and the creamy softness of the custard surrounding the fruit on your tongue. When you further chew you will feel crunchy pieces of the crust mingling with the fresh pear flavors and perfect sweetness of the pear mellowed out by the light vanilla flavors of the creamy custard.
