NUSSZOPF

The Nusszopf is a braided bread with a hazelnut filling. It is made of a yeast dough with egg, milk, a little sugar, and vanilla. After backing it is brushed with a powdered sugar brandy mix, adding a nice glace to it. Eating a slice, you will taste the light vanilla flavor of the bread and then you will get the nutty earthy flavors of the hazelnut filling, which are lifted by distinct, but not overpowering lemon zest flavors and the sugar helps to bring all this together to a beautiful bread nut crescendo and before you know it you eat the next slice of this wonderful bread.
