/ CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT TART

This tart has the same delicious and crunchy crust as the Öpfelwaaie and Birnewaaie. It is filled with a layer of hazelnut, mixed with a little bit of cream and egg custard and after baking it is topped with a layer of chocolate. This is a dream for chocolate lovers! You get the crunchiness from the nuts and the crust. You will taste the toasted nuts, which then get complemented with the bittersweet chocolate, melting away in your mouth. Hazelnuts and chocolate go very well together! I made this for a friend’s birthday since I had these specific ingredients available after baking the waaie. I mixed some ground Hazelnuts with the custard and baked it and topped it with chocolate. It came out really good, so we decided to put this on our menu. I hope you like it as much as we do!
